Places We Actually Go

Bio: Bob’s Juice Bar 75010

Bob’s Juice Bar is the original Canal Saint Martin spots for healthy salads, bagels and of course, juices.

Whether its a pre-bottled (but Bob’s made) cold press or an ever rotating concoction of fruits and veg, it’s breakfast and lunchtime fodder for those that fear wholewheat baguettes.

Our favourite addition this winter is the warm Rice and Beans, a steal for €6 complete with pickled cucumber and roasted butternut pumpkin. You can also now grab a cup of drip coffee from Belleville Brûlerie.

Everything is vegetarian, from the bagels to the sushi rolls to the salads and the soups. Combinations change daily as do the cookies and the muffins.

The canteen style eatery is small even by Paris standards, with one communal table for 8 which fills up quickly during lunch rush. In the summer it’s just a short walk to the canal for lunch by the (Parisian) seaside.

Impress fellow hipsters: American founder Marc Grossman has since opened a second (larger) location, Bob’s Kitchen in the Marais. Also set to open in early 2014 is Bob’s Bake Shop on rue Pajol in the 18th.
